Tacchini at Salone del Mobile 2025: Sculptural Design for Elevated Interiors

May 5, 2025

Tacchini’s presence at Salone del Mobile 2025 was nothing short of atmospheric. Known for its emotive forms and design-forward experimentation, the Italian brand used this edition to explore the intersection of material memory, organic geometry, and functional artistry. It wasn’t just a booth—it was a curated landscape where objects suggested narratives rather than dictated them.

Among a compelling lineup, three designs stood out for their clarity and character: Africa by Gordon Guillaumier, Gian & Pan by Elisa Ossino, and Butter by Nendo.

Africa: A New Classic in the Making

With Africa, Tacchini delivers an upholstered dining chair that reads like a small armchair—inviting, grounded, and unmistakably architectural. The design recalls modernist references, yet its curved, fully upholstered volume feels intimate and contemporary. It’s a chair that plays with balance—between solid form and visual ease, between softness and structure.

For premium dining spaces in Dubai—whether fine-dining restaurants or residential interiors—Africa offers a statement that doesn’t need to shout. Its enveloping design encourages longer dwell times, making it ideal for luxury environments where comfort is expected, not optional. And with Tacchini’s custom upholstery capabilities, it easily adapts to unique project palettes.

Gian & Pan: The Table as a Landscape

Elisa Ossino’s Gian & Pan tables extend Tacchini’s design ethos into the sculptural realm. Inspired by the forms of Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Pantalone from commedia dell’arte, these tables aren’t just surfaces—they are gestures. The organic shapes, paired with bold marble tops and asymmetric wooden bases, create a composition that feels more installation than furniture.

These are the kinds of pieces that architects and designers in the UAE increasingly seek—centerpieces that anchor a room and convey an elevated taste level. Whether in a hotel lounge, executive office, or curated villa interior, Gian & Pan blur the line between product and collectible.

Butter: Soft Geometry from Nendo

With Butter, Nendo offers a sofa that embraces asymmetry and comfort in equal measure. The name is apt: this is seating that spreads across space with quiet ease. Each element—from the gently contoured cushions to the low, rounded arms—suggests softness, but with a graphic precision typical of Nendo’s work.

In our view, Butter feels particularly relevant for modern hospitality projects across the Gulf region. In lobby lounges, co-living spaces, or private wellness rooms, it supports casual interaction without sacrificing style. The collection’s modularity allows for configurations that respond to both intimate and expansive layouts, making it as adaptable as it is distinctive.

Our Perspective: Design as a Spatial Dialogue

Tacchini’s 2025 showcase wasn’t just about individual pieces—it was about how objects shape the space between them. At BE4 Design, we recognize that same philosophy in our daily work: design as dialogue, not monologue.

When we look at products like Africa or Gian & Pan, we don’t see isolated elements—we see tools to frame an experience. In Dubai, where visual identity and global design fluency play a major role in project success, Tacchini offers designers the freedom to curate atmospheres that are emotional, elegant, and unmistakably refined.
